The 2019 VDIT Forum will be held on Friday the 29th of November at the Federation University Berwick Campus, Building 901.  This year’s event will again focus on strategic issues of specific interest to ICT professionals working in the higher education & research sector.

Plenary sessions will include talks from:

  • Dr Joseph Lawrence, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise) Research & Innovation Federation University;
  • Dayle Stevens, Chief Data Officer, AGL Energy
    Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Dr Leah Heiss, Designer and RMIT University Researcher
    Designing Collaborations: Working across disciplines and boundaries to create human-centred wearables, experiences and opportunities
  • Sue Owen, Director, Library and Learning Spaces, Federation University
    Alternative teaching model
  • A CIO Panel will discuss their perspectives on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Cities.

In addition, a number of concurrent sessions will cover issues such as cyber security; emerging technology; knowledge management; innovative ICT support for researchers; a transformative data storage case study; and a talk on the ICT skills shortage facing Australia and the world.

The VDIT Forum is a free event targeting the senior ICT professionals working in the sector in Tasmania and Victoria as well as invited participants from other states and sectors.

To further improve the professional networking value of the forum this year, VDIT will host drinks and a BBQ for delegates at the end of the programmed event.  Please join with CIOs, industry analysts, commentators and the senior university ICT professional cohort to discuss the important issues.
